Mare with feather
My new mare (piebald cob) has a lot of feather. I've never dealt with feather before and need some tips. She has a few mites in it according to a vet. I've been debating clipping her feathers, i know it might look weird but i don't know if i can keep them clean etc. what does anyone think and some tips would be greatly appreciated. :)

p.s. i cant work out how to upload a picture. i have a picture of her on instagram (naomigarner) she is on preloved (15.1hh piebald cob) thanks so much if you take your time to help me. :) :) :)

Feathers are a problem for many! They certainly can cause skin problems because they can trap and hold bugs and mud. If you can't be out regularly to clean and brush them it might be kinder to just clip them. You may have to anyway because of the mites if nothing else works to get rid of them.

If the vet said it was mites, a lot of draft folks use Frontline Flea & Tick Spray.
