Leg Protection
My friend's horse wears bell boots and splints to protect his legs. She told me that I should think about getting some too. We both work our horses regularly. We ride western and are training for barrel racing. Do your horses wear leg protection? What do you use? Reasons for using them? And pros and cons? Thank you!

I use SMB VenTech Elites on all four legs, along with bell boots, any time I lunge or do lateral work/circles, or for speed work.

The support boots offer some tendon support, as well as protection from opposite feet hitting the inside of the leg. Bell boots provide protection from overreaching.

I use front leg gear on all my horses when they are being worked. There is no good reason not too. They proteck the horses leg from getting injured. I even have one what is torn from top to bottom when I was teaching a horse to turn. If not for the SMB boots that would have been his leg.
