That's my favorite braid ! It's really easy once you get used to it. And it makes your horses feel good when it's hot out! Especially if they have a super long thick mane!
You're right! The braid kinda looks 'separate' in that pic, doesn't it? Usually doesn't look like that... hmmm.. wonder which way is the right way? I think the photo is very nice. If it were a little tighter/neater I think it would be very, very nice.
My pony has a really long thick mane and tail. There was absolutely no way we were going to pull her mane to show her so we did a running braid. It was wonderful, a lot of people commented on how nice it looked.
I've heard of other people doing for shows too. If it's neat it really looks classy but allows the horse to keep a long flowing mane.
How does one incorporate a poofy forelock into this braid? As in, how do we make it match? Lol not all of our horses are blessed with lovely flowing locks like the horse in the OP.
I like to leave my horse's flowing, but the only way to get it to match is to just single braid it.
