What do you think of Curly Horses?

Since I'm allergic to regular horses, I'm biased towards curly horses. For those that don't know, curly horses are hypoallergenic for most people.

I just wonder what the "real" horse world thinks of them? Curlies can be gaited, drafts, stock horse type, sport horse type or more mustang type. They've been crossed with nearly every breed.

So what do you think? Would you ever consider one even if you're not allergic? What makes them appealing or not?

I don't want to post other people's pics here but you can visit http://www.curlyhorsecountry.com/curlyaction.htm to see curlies in action. You are also welcome to look at my horses here to see examples of curlies. I welcome critiques on my horses but I know they aren't perfect examples of the breed.

Thanks!!

ETA: Here's some pics of mine both in their curls and not:

Curly Horses

Curlies are the most amazing horses I have ever come across. I have two, one that is a registered gelding and then I have a arab/curly mare. They are both amazing endurance horses with great hooves that dont need shoes and they have never gone lame. They weather bad weather really well and grow the ultimate coat for cold weather. Also, they come in all different shapes and sizes like you mentioned. They are the most amazing trail horses. My curly mare (I have had her for four years) she is the most amazing trail horse. They act alot like a Mustang, very aloof and knowing where everything is on the trail.

Some friends of ours have purchased two curlies since they couldnt be around any other horses since they are soooo allergic. They visited a curly farm and everything went great! Curlies have great personalities and are easy going but tough as nails. Plus, some are gaited with what is known as the Curly Shuffle. My mare has it, and it is really ground covering, smooooth and fast. Its too bad that some people think that their coats would be hard to take care of because they look "different". People should give them a chance! They are the ultimate breed that can do anything, anywhere, anytime. Look into them! You wont be dissapointed.

I had never seen one in person till our state horse expo last year. It was in the late winter so the curlys were curly. They are very cool. I had a mixed mare that would go curly like that in the winter but nothing like these. They just looked so cuddly you just gotta reach out and touch them

I have only seen them in pics. I think they are nature's way of letting people with horse allergies be FREE!!!! I think they are also very cool looking and would love to see a video of the "curly shuffle"!!!

I am one that likes a different look to a horse though. If the horse is plain and typical, I usually pass them right up. So, this type of horse would be right up my alley!

Curlies are one breed/type of horse that I have always wanted to see. I have yet to had the pleasure to be around one. :( One day...I will! :D
