Ever... Accidently Murdered a Pet???

I haven't... but I know quite a few people who have (they were all 8 and under when it happened)

Tell your stories! And then moarn the deaths... *sniff*

Here are my friends' stories:

one wanted to warm up her hamster, so she put it in the microwave... and... well... let's just say that she had a big mess to clean up afterwards. She moarned him for many days.

Another's cat had kittens, and apparently her little brother (3 at the time) decided that since he was cleaning the windows near them, that he was going to clean the cats. With Windex. Two out of the three died soon afterwards.

Before people begin saying that it's cruel, and that parents should educate their kids better, or at least keep a closer eye on them. Both of these times the parents were out of the house (or out of sight), and there are SO many ways that you can accidentaly kill a small animal, that... well... it's impossible to warn your three or four year old against ALL of them. :P

I've hoovered up a stick insect before.

Kind of a disturbing topic!

FutureVetGirl 08-14-2008 08:45 AM

Sorry... Solon... I'm not talking about big animals... mainly small animals from baby kittens down to tiny ants.

Like... my mom's cats loved to sleep on the engine inside of the car, and you'd have no idea it was there.

But then... other times, you'd be trying to help the animal, and then realize it dies.

But if people don't like this... then don't post anything on here. And I'll ask someone to delete it.

I'm just saying things like, I'm sorry that happened, I hope that we can educate our kids so it doesn't happen anymore. Not "ooh... wow... that's sounds so sad... yet... so much fun".

I threw a book on top of a mouse in the floor out of anger, see it
was one of those white feeder mice and when I took it out of the
cage it took a hunk outta my finger, so I put it on the floor and
threw a book on top of it.

I felt really bad about it later because I love animals, but honestly
it was going to be sacrificed anyways to my pet snake... :P

I ran over my beloved Ivy (scottie dog) but she is ok just 3 legged.
I was was using the forks on my tractor to move hay bales around and forked a barn cat. The bales were up on pallets, she was under the pallet. She may have already been dead but she was definitly dead after the forking, YUCK

My pet rabbit got out and my dog was chasing it around cuz she got excited and the bunny got scared and ran into my leg. He broke is back...the vet said it was possible that he'd be ok and it was just shock because he still had some feeling in his hind legs..welll I took him home and tried to nurse him back to health..well then he got maggots..so I took him back and had him put to sleep. I was so sad. I cried for days.

hahaha! This made me laugh. I actually just killed my first bug about a week ago. It was very liberating, knowing that I don't have to scream for my dad to come kill a bug every time I see one flying around my room. I actually couldn't do it before, but then I saw a nasty something flying around my room, it landed on my wall, so I took the fly swatter and one whack and it was dead.. then I had to wipe it off the wall.. gross.

I don't really remember this but when my and my sister (WSArabians) were little we tried to bath our chickens in the rain bucket (which probably killed most of them or all of them) and then tried to dry them off over the fire. My mom always reminds me of this story.
