sacrificing your health for ridding
i have been riding for 5years.I have cerebral palsy mildly.Ridding does effect my legs to the point where when i take one 1hr lesson my legs are worse for the whole week for the most part.My mom says i cant walk for the week but i do keep my legs up as much as i can and try to avoid walking.i like to take lessons once a week and before that i rode 4 times a week on a lease.i now waitress and struggle a bit due to my legs so ridding according to her is out.I havent ridden since last august.I will gladly start ridding once a week again sacrificing my legs and struggling in my waitress duties to feed my horse riding addiction.ive also been known to ride through pain as well which i try to work on. Do any of you sacrifice your health n order to ride?

If riding causes such issues have you thought of maybe trying out driving? You can still feed your horse addiction but your legs may be more comfortable.

As much as you love riding, which I understand completely, continuing to ride is something best discussed with your doctors. From what you have said it has caused issues with your ability to work...what kind of pressure does that put on your family? Is riding going to cause long term implications? I don't want to come across as harsh but think beyond yourself and right now. Yes I am lucky in that riding is actually physical therapy that helps keep my legs strong. But there may be a day when I have to accept that I can't compete or ride. I can deal with that.
