Looking for a deceased 2 day old horse

Hello. I am a taxidermist and have been asked to mount someone's 2-day old horse that passed away. Unfortunately, the hide from the baby horse had already been removed from the carcass when it came to me. I need the carcass to be able to make a mannikin on which to place the skin. I'm looking for another deceased baby that I can use to make a mannikin. In order for it to be about the same size, it should be no more than 2 or 3 days old. If you have one, or know where I may find one, please contact me. Thanks!

Why would someone skin a horse then want the rest mounted? Isn't the skin an important par of what makes the final statue *that* animal and not another?

(I don't think you will find someone on here with what you're after who will give it to you.)

DA, I read that as they have the hide/skin but not the carcass. While it's a strange request and one I don't think I could have done (though we do have deer mounts) the chances of finding a foal that age at this time of year may be a challenge for you Inky. The majority of foals born for the year are already on the ground. Most breeders try to have mares foal anywhere from Jan 1st (if planning to be young show stock) to late spring because registered horses all have the same birthdate of Jan 1 with breed associations for show purposes so an August foal would be 8 months behind on growth compared to the January foal.

The only option I could think of that may help you would be to contact vet schools or local horse vets.

Maybe a rendering plant would have one.

Thanks MH - my teeny screen helped me to misread it.

Yes, I have the skin. That's all.
They had first taken it to a different taxidermist who skinned it out and disposed of the carcass.

I saw a foal on Craigslist a while ago being sold for mounting.
