Horse Gets Sun-Burned Around His Eye
Hi! I have a question. My horse has two blue eye and his white blaze that goes over one of them, I've heard that the white around his eye can get sun burnt. I have used sun screen but I always gets rubbed off! I have also heard of some people who take the horse to a vet and get the white around the eye tattooed. I don't want to do that since its expensive, but does anyone has some suggestions about keeping the sun off of it? Or some pros and cons about the tattooeing.
Here is some products you can use.
Fly mask with UV protection?

I have a bald faced horse with two blue eyes.
I do three things.
First, I stall her during the heat of the day.
Second, I use 100 spf sun screen on her, everyday, and twice a day when I can.
Third, A full face mask with UV protection, on in the morning, off in the evening.
I haven't had a burn issues sense I started this. She seems to love to sun screen around her eye, and stands quite still while I apply it.
Consistency is the key. Once they're burned it's a different situation.
