Cecil's Teeth
1 Attachment(s)
My sister has a 27 Y/o OTQH gelding and we were looking at his teeth a couple days ago and noticed that his two front teeth are almost missing. I am worried because Cecil already has a heck of a time keeping weight on. Is there anything I can do? I am just worried about winter with hay and MN weather.
This picture is almost what his two front teeth look like but his are a bit smaller

What did the vet say when they were floated?

His teeth were fine when they were floated. He just had it done this spring.

Unless they broke or fell out then he should be fine. But you might have to make his dinners into mash so he can drink it up.

They weren't nubs before so it was pretty recent that they broke or something.

Then the vet should be out to look. Or a dentist if your vet doesn't do it. You don't want any sharp edges. And my vet recommends senior horses get their teeth floated every 6 months.
