Moving Barns in 2 weeks? Can I have some advice?
So a while ago I decided that I was going to move barns due to accidents, and the atmosphere being very un-professional. We decided that I was going to move in about 2 weeks.
The only one who knows about me moving is the barn owner and another friend.
The next time I see one of my barn friends I'm going to tell them whats going on and that I am going to leave.
I'm also going to start cleaning out my locker, which is pretty much FULL and I guess it wouldn't hurt to start now.
Any advice on talking to my friends and cleaning out my locker?
If they are your friends, be straight up with them. If you lie sooner or later they will find out. We recently had two people leave the barn where I am at and the drama started. Luckily only for a few days and the rumors were replaced by the two people who left doing a short facebook message blurb to all of us. Was short and to the point, no drama, just life and the directions it takes us. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply,
Would it be right to do it face-to-face? Rather than online, like on Facebook?
I would just say you are moving to another barn. I would not get into all the details. Sad to say but you never know if you may need to find a place to board in a hurry and may need to go back there. Or if too much is said maybe you get "blackballed" from all the area barns as being a boarder they can't keep happy.
WickedNag has nailed it. A boarder bad mouthed me after she moved her horse. She was at the new place that winter then moved the horse again. Again she bad mouthed me to the land owner - no barn. She has run out of places to keep her horse. I hear the atmosphere where she's at is turning sour because the guy is a loudmouth bully and a letch.
