Dressage saddle pads?

Are you allowed to use a shaped pad in competition, such as this?

The rules only say "Saddle pads are optional, but should be white or of conservative color." Frankly I've never seen shaped pad at our local shows - only square.

I'm in the same boat. I've only seen riders school in shaped pads. When showing though, some ride with the shaped pad over a square pad.

Yes, in my years I've only seen square pads, but I was thinking of using one of these on an arabian because sometimes I feel like they're so fine boned with the combination of a square pad, and saddle, and a big bridle, sometimes they seem to just be swallowed up.

Have you tried one of the smaller Dressage pads? I use a Larger one on the big horses, and for my smaller boned petite horses, a small pad.

Square pads only sorry, in official competition at least.

How about trying one of the finer, swallow tails pads?
