how to get a horse to jump? i ride westren but i might get an english saddle in the next year.. and only tried little jumps, like 6 inches off the ground on my barrels tiped on the side and two poles on them. my horse will just run them down, ive rode bareback and in the saddle and everytime he plows over them and knocks them down. ive tried ground poles and he doesnt get them at all no matter how hard i try.
how to get him to pick up his feet? and jump? and some cool homemade jump ideas? my uncle can find pretty much anything or build anything, and my dad can build lots of stuff too.
Hire a good trainer who can teach you and your horse to jump... in an English saddle. Jumping in a western saddle can be dangerous, and it's even more dangerous for both you and your horse if you don't have the proper training.
I second that motion :) Way to advanced for a forum to teach you!
