Has anyone tried the Isabell Dressage Saddle?

I have an opportunity to buy a wintec Isabell saddle has anyone tried this saddle? The reviews i've found aren't very helpful. I have sat in one at the tack shop but have never actually ridden in one. I currently ride in two different wintecs and i absolutely love them. The seller is allowing for a trial period but just wanted to know! Please, any review good or bad is helpful!:D

I've ridden my friend's horse in that saddle and it is very comfortable and balanced. It is a newer model. Pre-2010, the design was very constricting and didn't allow for your hips to move as they should. The only possible downside to Wintec is they don't fit all horses well front to back. They tend to bridge, so make sure it fits your horse before you commit.

Most wintecs should fit the same right? My wintec and my trainers fits him fine so I would imagine it would fit right? Of course I will try it on but just curious!!

I would say that is an accurate statement, but just double check that there is no front to back movement when it is girthed up. If I hadn't bought the Thorowgood, I would have gotten the Isabel. I really did like how it rode.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I did read a review that the size someone normally bought was actually a little big.. Was that accurate statement or did you find it true to size?

I don't know about the sizing, Just make sure you don't feel crammed into it, but you're not swimming either if that makes sense. You should be able to canter in it feeling secure but with your hips and back still able to move with the motion.

Okay sounds great. Thanks so much for answering!

I can't stand them personally. Way too restricting for me.

As for sizing, no, don't expect all Wintec's to fit exactly the same, especially if they are second hand as they may have been adjusted by a saddler.
The newer Isabels have a shorter panel, so are quite good for short backed horses.

I hate them, personally. They are extremely restricting (granted I do have fat thighs) but still I feel like my upper half is tipped forward, my legs stuck out behind me, and I can not move or settle into place in that saddle. Plus I wouldn't buy anything with her name on it.

I very much love the older version, suits me well. Then again, I have a similar build to Isabel Werth, so go figure.

Remember, it's designed for her primarily, so don't expect it to be comfortable if you are overly tall.
