I just had to share my excitement over the new addition to my family! After a lot of researching and searching for a reputable breeder I have finally found "the one"! I adore the Frenchie breed and have decided to take the dive. He'll be almost 14 weeks old when he comes home and he's black with just a trace of brindle and a white chest with the most adorable loving face. He's coming home at the end of the week! I'll have to see if I can get pictures posted later...
I can't wait! Does anyone else have a Frenchie or another Bulldog breed?
My daughter has a french bulldog, Ozzie. Brave little mutt, attacks bears. Full of energy and they have to wipe his bum after he poos as it gets stuck, yukky.
I have a friend with a Frenchie - they are great dogs and I definitely want one!!! So brave, friendly and smart (plus they are awfully cute!!) and small enough for city living.
I'm glad you're going through a good breeder, the puppy mill dogs have such awful health problems - including the butt wiping thing!! Have so much fun with him :D
I've wanted one of those guys for so so long! They have to be one of the cutest breeds! The prices here are so incredibly steep and there are so little of them, they go for an average of about £2000. I could buy a horse with that lol!

I am PEA Green with envy!!! They are DARLING!
Frenchies are great! Can't wait to see pics. :)
Thanks for choosing a reputable breeder, by the way!
Thanks everyone! I think they are so incredibly adorable. Prices here in Canada aren't much better than £2000. Google tells me that's about $3100 Canadian right now. That's I think that's probably around average from what I've seen lately. Unless you get a "rare" one from the not-so-repuatable breeder breeding only for the "rare" colors which are disqualified colours anyways by CKC standards. I've seen those advertised for $6000 + . But by the time I include accessories and the first bag of food for the pup I'm a couple hundred short of that $3000 mark for the dog. I've been saving for a while though knowing they do cost that for a well bred one though. I'd honestly say this lady is letting him go for a very reasonable price, considering she tells me she's put over $6000 into the litter which turned out to be two pups. One which she is keeping. It took her over 3 years of trying to get them here too...
Thanks again for the congratulations! The reason why I didn't post pictures is that I don't have any yet (other than a slideshow she sent me before I went to see them). I got too busy playing with them and chatting to the owner to take any. I'll post some when I bring him home on Saturday!
Can't wait to see some pictures. Congrats!
Her dog was not from a pet shop, puppymill or anything like that. She only has the best of everything (she makes the big bucks), it was from an occasional breeder that owns show dogs and a chain of department stores. So the butt wiping thing can happen in any litter.
I would have added pictures sooner but it's been a crazy week here!! He's been an amazing puppy...goes to bed in the crate without even a whimper, sleeps most of the night without needing to go out, doesn't bite/nibble like most puppies I've met and he's incredibly smart! He knows sit already and come is pretty good too. We're still learning drop though but I don't see it taking long.
