Funky Face Marking

I went to a ranch production sale last weekend and noticed this guy with a cool face marking. Any idea what's causing it? The rest of his markings looked normal from what I recall and I don't think the white extended to the lower lip. I didn't get to look at him for long.

The sale was only quarter horses. As long he was out of the ranches stock and not consigned, he was most likely out of two solids. Some of the other horses were roans and rabicanos.

white suppression genes. The same ones that cause badger faces.
