Quick Western Shirt Question...
Would it be appropriate to wear jeans with a shirt like this...
Or something like this...
Someone told me that whatever you can tuck in can be worn with jeans- is this true?
They all look appropriate. I have seen even simpler cotton shirts with no blind at local shows. I've seen some straight hem shirts worn on the outside but most tuck them in.
For halter and showmanship? No. You should find showmanship slacks to wear with it.
For riding, you would need chaps to complete the look.
If you want to show in jeans, then a plain button up shirt is the way to go.
For riding with black jeans perhaps- I do not have chaps at this time.
I wouldn't ride in anything less than black slacks and chaps. (or sand).
What type of show is this? If it's an open show, I wouldn't worry about it.
I would agree with spurstop that plain button-up + jeans might work..
But you need to get some chaps girl! lol Ebay has a lot of cheap options, just make sure to measure yourself. :)
If this is just a small local show you do not need to buy chaps. In fact I recommend showing a couple of times first to be sure you want to stick with long enough to buy a nicer outfit. Cheap chaps can look, well....cheap.
My first show season I showed in jeans, brown ones actually, with a nice button-up polyester short that had fancy embroidery. Sorry this link will suck because I'm on a phone but this;
Shyanne® Women's Vintage Embroidered Western Shirt
Is a lot like what I wore and it was plenty fancy for the ring.

Yeah I do want to get some chaps eventually- but for now the shows I'll be in chaps aren't essential. The shows I will be in are above a schooling show and below a breed show.
