I'm torn between posting this here, or on rider health.
My daughter (9) has made a huge improvement showing responsibility and determination to ride (that's a story for another post, lol). She's been riding Odie almost everyday!
At 21, and having been retired for the last 5 years due to arthritis, as you can imagine he's a little sore from all the hard work...walking serpentines, figure 8's, circles, and the occaisional trotting around the arena is insanely taxing on the old man:wink::lol:
Anyway, last night I taught J (daughter) how to apply linament on his back and hind quarters. Needless to say there's a lot of surface area to cover.
Oh how I wish I had a camera!!!!:lol::lol: Her face was PRICELESS! Now, she's a bit of a drama queen, so I'm sure her reaction was due to that but I got the scrunched face, hand over the mouth, other hand waving the smell away, and the collapsing back into the wall:rofl: "oh mom, that's horrid! I'm supposed to TOUCH that?!?!? I'm sure that's against the law!"
I know there's stuff out there that doesn't have such a strong smell, but I just like to be cruel, mwaaahaaahaa
Just had to share the adventure of introducing the next generation to all the "fun" stuff involved with having horses:wink:
