Irish Sport Horse - To lease or not to lease?
I am a dedicated Dressage rider/trainer, and have been looking for a project horse for some time. I recently came across a four-year-old 16.1hh Irish Sport Horse that is up for a 6-9 month free lease off farm. I'm guessing the woman who owns him just wants him to have more of a job for the winter and I have the facility work with him in. He's been ridden for about a year now, trails, small fences, lots of groundwork- So a good base, but still green. I don't know too much about the breed, but am hoping to finish him up on Dressage until the summer. It sounds like a good deal, here are some pictures:
These pictures are from his owner, I have not gone to meet him yet. The woman is being a bit vague as far as giving me contact information, yet asks me to call her without giving me a number. I hope it will all work out...
Anyway, do you guys think he would be a good dressage prospect? Anyone have an ISH? Any tips?
Thanks in advance~ :)
My question right off the bat is - what benefit would this deal have for you? Even as a free lease, it sounds like the woman would be receiving free training for 6-9 months.

But I don't know if I'll even get to see the horse as this woman has such bad communication skills and wont even give me a name.
the photo link does not work for me.
I am part leasing an Irish Sport Horse. He is more draft-like in appearance, but he can produce some nice , forward movement. If all ISH are like him, then they are a wonderful breed. (though , they really aren't a breed, so much as a combination of breeds.
He is sired by a stallion named "King of Hearts". Hears a small picture of the sire;
