Thank God for good neighbors0_0
soo,, this morning I woke up as normal.. Went to feed my calves.. and make sure the calfes in the pasture had hay in the feeder.. They didnt so I went to grab my dad.. He really didnt want to put ANOTHER big bale in with the cows so we started to fix the fence in the opposite pasture.. We noticed.. in my neighbors pasture.. my Filly and her gelding running around like total freak faces.. I couldnt see my beginner barrel horse Sunny, or my dads trail horse Poncho.. :?:? First thing that came to mind__ OMG someone stole my horses lol! We looked in the back of the pasture where the horses normally are sometimes.. but they werent there.. WHICH left one option.. THEY GOT OUT!!

But why/how could Sunny and Poncho be the only ones that get out.. when Camo legitly NEVER leaves Poncho's side. .Which then again left me wondering. We hurried up. Got in my dad's little truck and started down the rode..

There is a pasture with PLENTTYY of grass so I thought.. Hmm.. I wonder if they went there.. My house is on a private road, but on one side.. there is a busy dirt road( YES its busy to me) and on the other is a paved road.. I was hoping that they went to the pasture and just munched on grass.. so nothing bad would happen.. as we passed my OTHER neighbors house I SAW SUNNY!!! he was in one of there pens:) I was so stoked..! haha.. We went there.. and BOTH horses were in a pen.. My neighbor said around 4 am.. his dogs were barking.. and then later on around 530.. he saw our horses running around in that pasture.. So he got a bucket full of grain and coxed them into his pen.. I thank him about a million bujion.. times and took my horses back..

They went threw an un-electrified piece of fence! those smarties lol.. NOONE lucky is hurt.. coulda been worse I think.. the only thing wrong is Sunny's Eye is like swollen shut:(

Do you guys know a cheep way I could thank my neighbors?? thanks for reading:)))

You could bake them something like a pie or cookies or something like that?

If he is a horseperson, you could buy him a bag of oats.

I know the fealing, my yearling got out last week when the gate blow open in the tail end of a hurricane America decided to send us, no idea where he was spent 3 hours searching, posted it over the internet, radio had the police out just incase he has been nicn a nicked, lots of people help look for him, one more so then any she walked 6 miles with her dogs just to look for him she found him in the top part of my neighbours field where he has to just a whole pile of old wire to get there and he was frozen in one spot as he was there for hours in one space and was terrifed, he walked home the best he has ever walked, never want that fealing again, we got her 60 (about $97.30)worth of flowers, imo not as much as she deserved but that is what my dad got her, she is a lovely neighbour just like all my neighbours I really couldn't ask for a better place to live.

That happened to me once!! (only we were right off of a VERY busy paved road!) Our amish neighbors got them (my favorite mare and her filly..) and put them in their stables for us! :-) it's great to know that someone cares! I'm glad neither were hurt! I second the pie or cookies! :-)

I am so happy that your horses are alright. I know far too well how scary that is.

I only had a horse get out one time and that was when she was being boarded at a fancy stable. I was driving out to see her and my sister was with me she said "hey, look that looks like your horse" Sure enough, my horse was trotting along the side of the highway with her tail flipped up over her back and nostrils flaring. You want to talk about fear? I thought for sure she was dead on the road and prayed she didn't kill anyone else. I quickly pulled over, told my non horsey sister to stay in the car and pretended I was just out walking, IF that horse thought I was after her, it would have got her going all the more. I just sort of sat down and started pretending to have something really interesting and curiosity got the best of her. Thank God.

Needless to say I had words with the barn owner when I got back, loaded my horse onto a trailer and moved out. I might have been alright if she had apologized profusely but instead, she blamed the horse for being smart. She didn't use "smart" as her word.
