Miniature Cows, raised them, opinions on them?

So this spring we are going to re-fence the 20 acres, we now have 4 sections, making it into 6 for better rotation. So we want to get a couple cows.
I've read about the miniature ones and really like what I've found. Smaller connective tissue equaling more tender meat, less impact on the land, less feed, etc. Honestly I'd like to raise a few to sell, seems like they bring a steady price due to their novelty, and I'd like a constant supply, thinking about two heifers and a bull calf to get me started.

So what do you know?

I think so too ClaPorte! I've been looking at them for years and I adore them!
They seem like such a great idea since we won't be able to have a big operation, I really don't like cows, DH wants some large ones but I don't want to give up too much pasture, hello it's for the horses, DUH!
They really are doing well on the market, from what I've seen your looking at $1,000 to $2,500 for registered and they can range between 150 to 250 lbs for the small ones, around 26 to 36 inches tall!!

Are they for eating, milking, showing or what? My husband was just asking me if miniature cows existed! I have to look up some pics now. I bet they are cute!

Have you looked into the Dexter cows?

All the pictures I have seen of them are adorable! Never met any in person though.

My neighbor swears by them (she doesn't have any currently though, they all went to her Ex).

I have regular sized Angus, less work than horses and I can easily pasture my horses with them.

You can do all three Serenity, each breed is better than another for each purpose.
The mini dexters are better for milking, where as I think I like the lowline angus for meat better.

But the mini longhorns and Zebu are sooooo cute!

I recently saw an article on a local farm that was raising what looked like mini herfords. If I remember correctly, they were bringing better prices then full sized cows
