Turn Out Blankets?
I'm getting ready to purchase a blanket for Cheyenne for really cold nights this winter. But I'm not sure if I should buy a turn out or stable blanket. She will be in a stall this winter but next year she may be on pasture. Is there a reason why you shouldn't use a turn out blanket in a stall? Or a reason why a stable blanket would be better?

Turn out blankets are waterproofed. Stable blankets offer no water protection and will likely end in your horse getting extremely chilled if used outside in winter. I don't think that there is any real reason not to use a turn out blanket indoors, so maybe that would be the best option if she is going to be outside next year.

I've always used turnout rugs indoors.
Okay, good to know. Thank you. I didn't think there would be anything wrong with it but I wasn't sure.
