Crit a 4 month old please?
I just want to hear that he looks good for a baby weaned at 2 months. Farriers coming out on Sunday. I've had him a month and he now accepts having his feet handled, the rasp and nippers. His parents are 15.3 and 15.2. He's 12 hands. Does that seem like a normal height for a baby to top out at 15.2/3? My vet is very evasive saying "each horse is different". How do his gaits look? Anything amis? That's the first time he ever lunged him, sorry its not perfect, I wasn't going to make him do any more.
I don't know much about foals and how their genetics play into the height, so I won't bother commenting about that.
His trot seems nice and free. It is fast, but it could very well be just because he's young, unbalanced, not used to where to put his feet, and doesn't know he should trot slower. He seems to stretch nice and well at the trot. He's not just plodding along, not tracking up. He's looking great! And he sure is a cutie. c: You seem to be doing wonderful with him.
Thank you! I've been worried about him. I want to give him the best. He was probably trotting fast because I've never had him do that before. He was freaked a little. Sorry the cantering video sucked. I don't have anyone to video.
Hahaha. My sentiments exactly. But then, I am biased. So I was looking for more experienced peoples opinions.
