Icelandic Mare for sale
I have an 13.2 hand 11 yr old registered Icelandic mare for sale, she is what I would consider green broke, she goes where she is pointed could use more wet blankets on her. She is solid 4 gaited and prefers the tolt, her flying pace is weak so I won't say she really has it. She is a solid mare and an easy keeper. A good home is a must.

She sure is cute. I would love her, but I cant' even keep one horse right now. How much weight can a horse like her carry?

They have no problem with full grown men, most can carry at least 250 lbs all day long, it's said they are 2 1/2 times stronger than the average sized horse, they are like mini drafts, they love to pull, jump and are usually very good on the trails, don't spook at every thing. I have way too many horses and have to down size since the price of hay has doubled in my area this years due to the drought and the cost of fuel. I'll be selling some of my Paints also.

I know of some folks who have two of the Icelandics. I rode one once. It waskind of cool, tho wierd in how your legs hand down into thin air below the barrel. I hope you find her a good home.

Thanks I want her to go to a good home too. It is kinda strange being almost able to wrap your legs around them, but she's pretty broad across the back so your feet won't drag.

I'd love to ride one. She seems lovely. Good luck finding her a good home.

She is so cute! How does she do w the heat?

She was out of a big ranch in Southern California so she does well in the heat. It's the cold I was worried about and had her blanketed all last winter I got her in December and she had not winter coat at all.

So cute! I ride a Icelandic for a friend and he has quickly became my second heart horse. He isn't solid in his tolt but his other gaits are so great that it doesn't matter. They ride like horses with the look and hardiness of ponies. I would scoop your mare up in a second if I had the funds; I vow that my next horse will be an Icie.
