I'm sure this sounds silly. I've been riding for 20 years...wow I really am getting old. I never thought I would say I was doing anything for 20 yrs. hahaha So what am i looking for? Will it be present if I'm not riding?
Watching from the ground, the rear foot will drop into the divot left from the corresponding front foot. Like the horse pictured, his right hind is going to be pretty close to where the front just hit.
