Ok, Jenna's been doing absolutely amazing and consistant but I'm at a point.
I cannot decide which bit to run her in. She runs great in a hackamore, but she also runs great in my twisted Jr Cowhorse. I run Barrels (no tie down), Keyhole and Figure 8 in her hackamore. I run Poles in her bit and tie down. Each one has its pros and cons. Any tips?
And Jenna tends to pause coming out of her barrels, its only for a good half second but its still costing us. She gets mad when I kick in between barrels so I'm not sure what to do. She does like to go fast and I never use a whip on her but how can I speed her up out of her turns?
I would just keep switching headstalls in between for each individual run. if she already works well in each, continue them. And my gelding sometimes does that too...make sure that your turns are perfect circles and your pocket isn't causing her to "avoid" crashing into the barrel.
Don't fix something that isnt broke, leave her in what she likes.
As for the kicking, JJ hates kicking or whipping and will just shut down and won't run. He does best if I squeeze and nudge.

Same with Selena. If I kick her she shuts down.
I'd leave the bits as is. Also, on your slow work, developing the speed leaving the barrel could happen if you trot into the barrel then halfway around the turn pick up the lope and push out to the next one.
