Lump on hind Stifle, thigh area
I am leasing a rescue right now, she is a Belgian Cross in her early teens. I have had her for about 2 months now.
I went to see her today and noticed she had this baseball sized lump on her left hind leg, in the thigh, stifle area. I asked my trainer about it and she said that particular horse has always had that, but she said it isn't causing her pain so it is okay. I had no idea until now about this problem, no one told me.
My trainer suspects it's from a past injury or something.
I am just curious as to what it could be, and if anything can be done to help the issue...like some kind of stretching or something. I don't know.
From what I understand the bump will go away, and then come back, and then dissappear for a bit, and then come back. I have had her for 2 months and this is the first week it has appeared, but from what I was just told a month before I started leasing her it showed up and always has been this way.
I really want to call the vet out, but it is a tough situation because the owner owns the rescue ranch and he has many other rescue horses and so she isn't a priority for him really. He would only really call the vet out if she were so lame she couldn't even stand or something. So please don't lecture me on how I should call the vet, because I know that.
Any help is appreciated!!!
