I am so sick of feeling sick :/
There's been something going around, and I thought hopefully I wouldn't get it because I don't get out much... then I got a job and BAM. My poor boss isn't having any luck with her employees, the lady who was hired before me is in hospital with pneumonia! And now I'm sick :/
Mild nausea, headaches, dizziness, a cough (which can be totally dry or phlegmy and ick), sneezing, cold sweats and hot flashes, tummy aches, constant hunger (yet feeling like if I do eat I will be sick)... SO OVER IT. Feel worse at night but I think that's because I have less to distract myself with.
I know I can stop the nausea if I can find ginger tablets but the supermarket doesn't have any and I don't really want to go to the chemist, so I put up with it... as much as I hate it. Went to the doctor yesterday and he basically said there was nothing wrong with me, which is seriously annoying but it's not like he could do anything anyway.
Edit; and I can't drink water, only cordial or electrolyte drinks. Fine by me, I don't like water anyway... but my teeth do not appreciate the copious quantities of sugar!
You have my sympathy, but I do have to chuckle a bit. When Mrs. Face graduated from college and got her first job in the oil business, she was there 3 days and came down with a bad case of measles and missed the next 2 weeks...what a great way to start a job...
oh dear Face!! Lucky for me I've been there longer than 3 days and have been able to work all but 1 of my rostered days on. Although I think tomorrow (later today?) I might not... ughhhh. So over it.
Also lucky that my boss has decided she loves me. She actually told me the other day that I'm the first person she's hired that she knows she can REALLY trust to do the job properly and keep the place tidy even when she's away at shows/clinics... I work basically as a stablehand, it's not great money but I love the job and where else am I going to find this level of autonomy? I have basically no qualifications aside from a cert II in general education, which is the equivalent of a high school diploma but takes a lot less time and the work is easier. Autonomy is basically not going to happen in any other job. I'm a very independent person so being basically my own boss, with nobody breathing down my neck yelling at me for making mistakes, works really well for me.
I will be devastated if I get sick enough that I can't work for an extended period as my boss is a small business owner and can't afford to keep staff on who aren't working. Actually, if I get sick enough that I can't work for two days in a row, I'm doing something about this. Finding ginger tablets or something.
Well, I hope the ginger works. You do realize I assume that your symptoms sound a lot like you are baking something in the oven...
take oil of oregano!!!!!
I really like peppermint tea for nausea. It always settles my stomach right away. I'm sorry you're sick D: I get sick super often so it's to the point where I just down a ton of pills and constantly drink Emergen-C...It's a drag for sure. :( I hope you feel better soon!!
haha Face my doctor brought that up too! There's no chance though, if I was I would be showing it's been that long since I, er, jumped on the bed. And I'm absolutely tiny so there's no room for a bun to hide. No buns in this oven, and none intended for quite some time.
Spotted, what is oil of oregano??
SorrelHorse, I hate peppermint and I hate tea! Ginger pills seem to work really well for me. Can't stand the taste of actual ginger, but the tablets are ok. Only problem? I haven't got any. I used them up last time I was sick and haven't got around to getting more.
It's 5.40am and I haven't slept because when I lay down I feel like I'm about to blow chunks... rather sit up and be miserably tired than feel like that!
