Double lunging?

Hi I have seen double lunging, where horse is lunged with two leads, one over the hind end.
Can someone tell me exactly what this achieves and how to do it/ set it up?
Are there any how-to videos?
Thanks!!

It allows you to help collect the horse without having to ride. It's no different than ground driving or long lining, you just can't run behind a cantering horse. My old instructor/trainer was doing this with horses when she couldn't ride from a medical condition. Valuable tool, double lungeing.
