Alternative ERU treatments?
My horse was diagnosed with ERU, or moonblindness, about three years ago. Right now he is on Tobramycine drops three times a day. I was told to ask my vet about putting him on Asprin, but would like to know if anyone else can give me advice on other treatments, preferably ones where I don't have to call the vet out.
Please don't think I don't want to call a vet, it is just that the one I use is a tad far from me, so every visit is very expensive, especially since I can't share travel costs with someone else. I'm just seeking out treatment that I can readily try without getting veterinary care first. :)
I've heard of giving MSM as a treatment, along with bee pollen, vitamins, and yucca. Has anyone had any luck with these? I've given him hot and cold compresses before, but he seemed to rub his eye more after them so I stopped.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks for any advice!
