Simco, worth the money??

So I'm very interested in this saddle and it is exactly what I've been looking for. But I know very little about western saddle brands. It will have to be shipped so I won't get to see it in person before I purchase. It is a 15 in simco round skirt barrel saddle. And it looks like it's leather and not synthetic. I would prefer leather over synthetic for my western saddle. So pics are below, please tell me thoughts and if it's worth the $300? I'm thinking it is but I just want to make sure. Or if there is anything you want to tell me about this saddle as I really know nothing of the brand other than it is supposed to be a good brand. Thank you.

300.00 is not too bad for that saddle, Simco makes a decent saddle

Thank you, I kinda figured it was a good deal but I wanted to make sure. I have never owned a western saddle before so much different shopping :)

I'd buy an older one before I'd buy a new one. The tree is called Little Wonder and is comfortable for women. By the style of the cinch ring it was popular in the 70's and early 80's. The sharp forks are actually better for barrel racing that the so-called barrel front altho this saddle won't fit a horse with high withers. whereas the barrel front will. Have you tried bargaining a little? 15" seat saddles are getting harder to sell because of the great number of overweight riders who need the larger saddles.

I've looked everywhere in my area and barrel saddles that are a 15 are hard to find, most are a 14. While I fit in a 14 my bf does not :( but if this is made more for women I may love this. I usually can't sit in western saddles because I feel they are ripping my hips apart.

I gave up on clearance for the withers. I'm ordering a special pad with pockets so I raise it as needed. Not to mention that pad actually comes short enough.

The problem with the older ones is the weight and skirt length. Skirt cannot be more than 22 inches, no give there. She hates too much weight, that's what an 800lb arab will get you. She is a picky little princess so everything must please her.

What do you think is a fair price? I do have to pay for shipping as well.

Do any of the photos actually show the Simco logo?

No I guess not. I can ask for the model number.

I would also ask to see the tape measure showing seat size. Looks rather small if it is a 15 inch.

I have to say this one just doesn't look quality enough to be a Simco.
