TWH Registration Question
So we will be getting our first Tennessee Walker in about a month. She will be 6 months old.
Since I am not a member of the TWHA, would it be a better route (financially) for me to pay the $60 for the year and be able to get the free transfer on her? I am not finding anything giving me an estimated cost of transfer, so I figured I would ask around here and see if anyone knows.
The breeder will be registering her before she turns 6 months/before I pick her up, as he likes to wait until he is 100% on color. So would it be more wise to put the transfer in at the time of registration?
Now as far as names go, I will not be able to see what is taken unless I do register right?
The non member fee is the member fee plus $60. Might as well become a member while you're at it.
Darrin, thank you so much! I was wondering if it would just be better to become a member :P
actually its the TWHBEA,
Please dont send those scumbags any money. These are the hypocrites that sanction the atrocities committed to walking horses. The organization is rotten to the core, sending them money makes you part of the problem.
The National Walking horse association The National Walking Horse Association is a much better organization that doesnt promote soring, nor allow animal abusers on the board of directors.
I, in NO way, would want to be on the side of such abuse, but just want to make sure I do what I need to do registration wise in the best manner.
my walker is registered with the TWHBEA thats who she was reg. with when i bought her. and i transfered her over to my name. i couldnt find prices either on thier site, so i sent them an email and they told me basically what Darrin just told you. for the $60 you get free reg. transfer and you get their magazine every couple months. just part of the membership.
i dont do facebook. but i did email them and they got back with me the next day. after receiving the registration, i had another question, and i called them up, left a message and they got back to me by phone the same day.
That is comforting to know, to be honest. I know I will have questions a long the way, so knowing they get back within reasonable amounts of time is a really good thing!!
I never heard of the National Walking Horse Association, but it looks interesting.
i bought a TW Mare about 2 months ago came with papers but i decided she's a trail horse, i'm not going to breed her, and i'm not going to give the Tennesee Walking Horse breeders association. i like the breed and it will survive without the association if they are going to allow the big lick competitions they don't need my hard earned money
