We have Miniatures! (pics in post)

Well, my cousin's do...

They got their two miniature colts yesterday. One belongs to my cousin's Wille and Kim (for their kids Makenzee, Madalynn, and Mason) and the other belongs to my great aunt Martha (for her daughter's kids Alyssa, Danielle, and Wesley).

The colts are approximately 6 months old and have only been weaned for about a month. Neither of them knows how to lead and both are a bit wild, though once they are caught they calm down quickly and are ok to be petted, just sharp, fast movements scare them. I think they will calm down really quickly.

One is a bay, he belongs to my cousins Wille and Kim, and their kids have named him "Tony Pony". The other one, I'm not sure on his coloring... and he isn't named yet, as my great aunt Martha is going to have all the kids put a potential name in a hat and they are going to draw a name for him.

Tony Pony is much more curious than the unnamed colt, though he's not really as willing as the unnamed colt is. The unnamed colt will approach you once the lead is grabbed, but Tony Pony won't approach you, you have to go to him. Tony Pony is calmer, but when something scares him, he doesn't calm down as quickly as the unnamed colt, though the unnamed colt is more skittish than Tony Pony and freaks out easier, he calms down sooner, too.

Welcome to the world of Minis. Such dear little creatures. Be careful to treat them just as you would a full size horse. No spoiling, or you'll end up with some nasty terrors on your hands. And please do cap all those posts.

I have had horses all my life, but not minis. I rescued 2 mini mares about 3 years ago. and it had been so fun. they are awesome. but just as expensive as the big horses. :]
