Hi my horse Duke has some flaky skin on his neck. What could it be? Is it something I could catch? How do I treat it? Here are some pictures. as you can see, its coming off in big flakes. Could it be mites? allergies?
weather change to drier and the skin is sloughing off? not grooming enough? my boy's tail head looks like that after we use mtg on it. for some reason it seems to promote dandruff like that flaky skin.
If you can do a scrubbing with head and shoulders, don't be shy with it! Let it sit for 10 minutes and really rinse it out! My guy just had to have the top of his tail scrubbed with head and shoulders and it cleared it up super well! I'm sure he feels way better too!
Seems to be dandruff season!
Good luck in getting the danderuf gone!
Oh curry or use a shedding blade as much as you can to lift it up first before scrubbing with the head and shoulders! I had to use my fingers ti scratch it up and Oliver loved that! Was moving his booty to help get the right spots!
Can you use hot water? Get a blow dryer and towels to dry it
Yes, you can brush it out if it is too cold. It will come back though.
