Quarter Horse Weaner
Whadda ya'll think about this little cutie?
He is a fine looking animal, front pasterns are a little upright, but I think that's just how he's standing... How old is he
He was born in May 2012 :)
Baby's are fun, I love his colour :)
Tied in at the knee. What do his dam and sire look like?
The tendons narrow at the knee and it is a conformation flaw plus a serious weakness (IMO).
When looking at babies, this saying comes to mind: "Tops may come but bottoms never!" This means that what you see is what you get with a young horse's legs while the body structure will change quite a lot. I believe in this saying having watched a large number of baby horses grow up. .
Elana, I have to disagree. Having seen this colt in person I can tell you that as of now he is neither straight in the pasterns nor is he toed in at/below the knee.
Looking at a baby's conformation you can get a good guess at conformation at four to six month old. This is a picture of a six week old colt. He is still coming into himself coming out of mom. Just saying this having watched lots of foals grow up. :-)
His dam is MS Great Pine, a daughter of Great Red Pine, an NRHA money and producer, and by Banjo Whiz, who shouldn't need any introduction.
