Time Change - hate it
Does this throw you off like it does me? My dogs and horses don't switch. The dogs were getting fed at 3 and the horses at 8am and 5:30. No one told them about the time change. I will be glad when this quits. It was done so people would have more daylight when they got home from work. Every try to convince a child to go to sleep when it's still daylight for a few more hours? Today is grey with the overcast sky. I keep checking the clock if it's time to feed but not for a few hours yet.
Our changed two weeks ago and my 16mo son is still struggling with the new routine. Why do we need it brighter for kids to go to school, I think it would benefit more for it to be bright when they come home so that they can play outside for a while.
I know right? It always throws off my body's schedule. I think we should just compromise by moving it forward a half-hour and then just leave it there. No more problems. And it's not like I am ever home from school before it gets dark anyway. My schedule always has me getting up way before dawn and getting home way after dark, no matter what.
I could care less which time is used. I just wish we could stick to ONE for the whole year. If Saskatchewan wasn't so flat and cold, I think I'd move just because of DST.
I agree, NM. It is such a pain in the butt and hard to get used to it being dark at 6pm now. Because I've always been a night owl, I just have to set a bedtime for myself or I'll lose track of time and be up all night. With it being dark so early, it makes me want to go to bed early...which wouldn't be terrible, except when I do, I end up wide awake at 2 am or so and can't go back to sleep.
Ugh, I much prefer the summer time where it stays daylight later. Since I'm not really a morning person, I like to be able to sleep in until 8 or 9 and still have 12 hours of daylight left LOL.
How big is your time shift? For east coast US its an hour and I actually end up with LESS useable daylight. Instead of driving to work in the dark and having a fair bit of time after work to ride, I drive to work in the sunlight and have MAYBE thirty minutes of light left to ride in after work. I never understood how that was supposed to help anything!

Well, in the winter is the actual "true" time. The time shift for the summer is something that some really stupid smart person came up with that doesn't really accomplish anything but screw people up twice a year LOL.
I agree with NM, I don't care which time they choose, I just wish they'd stick with one. I could deal with it getting light at 5:30 in the summertime and getting dark at 9 instead of light at 6:30 and dark at 10.
Time shift is 1 hour for everyone that takes part in DST.
One of the best things about moving to AZ-we no longer change the clocks. That is very cool, just have to be careful if we are going to go over a state line.
Getting everyone on board in both Canada and the US was why it's taking so long to eliminate changing the clocks. It is counter productive as it takes weeks for people to make the shift and not feel out of whack.
