Erm, guys, what IS this?? *possibly graphic*
So I found this in the pasture this morning...(but it could have been from yesterday - it's dark out when I do my evening check/feed/put everybody in their stalls so I could have easily missed it).
My initial thought was that it's the insides of some creature the coyote killed and he was just carrying them around for whatever reason. Or something dropped by the hawk that lives in the pasture...
But then, the more I looked at it, the more worried I got. Hazel's been acting sort of "down" for the last few days but today she was suddenly much perkier...could she have aborted somebody? I was not told that she could be pregnant but then again, I never expressly asked since the reason her owner gave for selling her was that she wanted to get Haze OUT of making babies...
Anyhoo - goat abortion/something else I should worry about or the leavings of a wild animal?
Bottom line = GROSS.
(the reason that it's so clean is that we've been having torrential rains the last few days - any anything would have been washed off)
This is everything that I found, just like this. Size-wise, if it were internal organs, they would be large raccoon-small coyote sized.
That looks like intestines to me.. Gross!
guts, not foetus.
something got et yesterday.
Excellent! Well...not excellent for whoever got eaten, but excellent for me and everyone involved! haha
yep, thats definitely the 'not so tasty' parts of a small mammal xD a foetus would have a slime sack around it and be atleast partially recognizable unless it had been septic in the womb for a while.

Hahaha so basically, my pasture is a fully fledged ecosystem...biology words, wuut. And I walk in this place after dark=terrifying. haha
I knew there should be some sort of fetus for an abortion but since I don't know how long it's been there, I wasn't sure if "something" might have carried it off and left the...other stuff, you know?
I'm just so relieved that it's not anything to do with MY animals! :D
Yep, chitlins and vittles. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_11.gif
Wonder if those are from one of the deer you posted pics of earlier? Maybe a coyote got a deer? Funny that it's only the Intestines that are in your pasture?
