Grackle/ Figure of 8
This is what i usually ride Whisks in
However i came across this bridle and it really caught my eye whisks has never been ridden in a grackle as she doesn't need it and i was wondering is there any point in riding in it if the horse doesn't need it?
I was looking at a Figure 8 bridle earlier, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want the bit restraint there since it isn't absolutely needed.
Its a pretty piece of headgear though. :b
(May want somebody else's opinion, I didn't research or anything)
Grakles are strong nosebands, even the Mexican version pictured. I used one on a horse that pulled, but if you don't need it there's little point. Currently we have one horse who jumps in a plain cavesson and one in a grakle with long cheek snaffle (steering issues when he's excited!)
On the basis that it's less comfortable to wear, and it's only looking pretty, I wouldn't bother :)
You remind me of when I was young and there was a beautiful grey UK showjumper called Tigre that wore a grakle so I just had to have one even though I didnt need it but I felt so cool riding around on my grey that looked nothing like the real thing but in my head it was!!!
Totally useless info but the English Grakle was named after a UK racehorse that won the Grand National in 1931 and used to pull so hard it helped control him.
