Fleeces as Blankets?
So we are getting to the point were it is too warm for a 100g but to cold for just the sheet. So I was wondering would a fleece be like the happy medium? Not to cold or to hot? It has leg and belly staps and he would wear a turnout sheet over it, then a stale sheet when inside, so would itbe to hot?
Whoops! Forgot to put it gets to mid 40's in the day and 20's at night.
It's been around the 40's by me and a little windy
and I'v been doing exactly what you want to do. I don't see it being too hot for my mare.
Although she doesn't grow a winter coat, so I blanket her because she gets the shivers and then we get runny noses and sleepy ponies
Thanks! So she hasn't sweated at all? Also neither does my pony when it comes to coat, also does a sleepy looking pony mean there cold? If so mine has been super cold the past few weeks! I thought something has been wrong!
What about 52? Would that be to warm for it?
No, my mare gets sleepy when she gets a cold! not because the weather is cold(:
52, naa. That would be fine. it had been 50ish for a few days and a few horse actually have medium weight blankets on still with no sweat or discomfort
Thanks! He wore a medium weight once when it was 50 and didn't sweat either, but didn't look happy! I forgot to take it off one morning when there was a cold snap of 10 that night!
Off to the barn on the AM to put on a fleecy! Thanks
