Problem with spurs/tall boots....
So I recently started wearing spurs. I also just got some new tall boots. My spurs are digging into the tops of my feet and they are making my feet all tingly when I ride. Any suggestions? If I loosen up the straps they will slip off.....

Anyone have any brilliant ways of breaking in tall boots?

I have ariat challenge zip field boots

Regarding the boots, IF you bought the right size, then wear them around the house to stretch the leather. If you clean them first, then oil them, and this will also help stretch the leather.
Regarding the spurs. First, you can pull and push the metal where the straps connect to get a good fit. The spur itself should rest on the the small, 1/2" spur rest on the back of each boot, about ankle-bone height. If they are too low, it is difficult to adjust, and that could account for your pain. I THINK that this is your problem.
You didn't say if the spur straps were leather or synthetic. If synthetic, just keep adjusting until you find the right place to hook the buckle. Walk around in them for about 10 minutes to see if you are comfortable.
If they are leather, you'll want to play with the adjustment of the leather through the connecting holes on the metal spur until the holes that you buckle through are comfortable.
Tell the truth I've never had this problem, but my Original Hunt Seat instructor was very picky about stuff like this, so he corrected us when our equipment wasn't adjusted correctly.
