My horse came out from the pasture 2 weeks ago limping on his left front. I immediately took him to the vet, who, upon examination, found no heat, nor abnormal pulse, however there was swelling on his ankle. I put him on bute for a week and took him off of it and he was still limping. Currently I have his leg wrapped snugly as I don't quite know what else to do for him. Anyone know what might by the cause of this or any cures?
Possibly an abscess.
I'd agree. Have u trimmed him?

did the vet take x-rays? how bad is the limp?
He was trimmed a week before the lameness. The vet did not x-ray him, so in a week I have an appointment to take him back to the vet's.
Trimmed a week before - is it possible angles & such were changed too drastically? But it could have been just one of those things - he strained it tripping in the paddock or some such.
