Breaking in those dreaded feild boots
Ok so I have a pair of new zip-up devon-aire boots. I have a show in two weeks and I need them supple and not painful bny then.
does anyone have some methods for breaking them in?
Right now they are just getting oiled and walked around in.
Wear them constantly, that's about it.
If they are tight fill them full of whole oats then dump water in them to soak the oats. When the oats swell they will strech the boots. I've done this several times. Another thing that has worked for me is to go stand in a tub of water till they are soaked then wear them till they are dry.
Find some 'guarunteed no-blisters!' hiking socks to wear while you're breaking them in! I'm sure some brands are better than others, but the ones I ahve work great, and come with a promise that you'll get your money back if they either wear out in a certain time or you get a blister whilst wearing them.
