Ligaments/ Navicular

I have a horse has both a calcified suspensory ligament, and desmitis of the lateral patellar ligament, and a horse with possible navicular disease. Do any of you have horses with the desmitis of calcified suspensory. And what does your horse respond to the best for any of these?

I don't have any experience with calcified ligaments being 'rehabbed' & the common belief is they cannot. Trouble is, by the time the ligaments begin to calcify, there is already chronic damage to the area. But I do remember reading something about this, perhaps with regard to vitamin/mineral therapy making a diff. Also if you look up research into bone remodelling it may be helpful. Sorry can't remember more.

As for 'navicular disease', yes, experience and lots of study. It isn't the death sentence it once was, because it was considered as mysterious & incurable, so conventional treatment has only ever been palliative. However, since the 'barefoot bandwagon' got under steam, there have been countless egs of (confirmed) 'navicular' horses being rehabbed. I suggest looking up Dr Robert Bowker's work & also hoofrehab.com
