Please critique me and my mare!!
Critique Horse and Rider please!! ... She's 17.1, 9 year old warmblood.
I know I have a really bad habit of dropping and turning my hands in! ..
Jumping... My leg has slipped back quite a bit I can see, how does my horse look?
Your eq on the flat looks good (apart from the hand issue which you've already noticed). Your horse could drop her head more into your hands and push more forward from her hind end - you can get that to happen if you pick your hands up, squeeze your shoulder blades together and keep a nice consistent contact as you push her forward. Lovely horse and I'm confident that if you just make a few slight adjustments she'll be going forward in a nice dressage frame :) If you want more of a hunter look, you want to have a slightly longer rein and really encourage her to stretch her neck.
She's a nice jumper too, in the first picture she's jumping a little flat (not terribly though), but she's got great knees!! Your position is pretty good in the first picture, but in the second picture you're getting a little ahead of her. Instead of thinking "lean forward", think of standing and then squatting down in the saddle (don't actually do that before the jump, that's just a good way to figure out the correct position) - try to bring your hips back further and your chest up a little more. Keep in mind those are all just small corrections, you guys look great! I really really like your horse and I think you guys have a lot of potential!
okay great! thanks for the suggestions :) And she's such a good girl I love her so much :) thanks...
You look really good, your horse is so gorgeous!!! So I agree with everything that hollye said. You are always looking up which is awesome!! Your horse is a little flat over the jump but her knees are soooo pretty. the only thing that I caught idk if it is just the angle but on the flat make sure you roll your shoulders back a little! Great mane and tail braids they look so good!
I think your horse looks nice, round and knees up.
on the flat, besides your hands, you seem to be leaning to the inside. i would recommend some work with out stirrups ! other than that you look great !
over fences you look very solid, you are just jumping ahead a little bit, which causes your leg to be slightly too far back. again, no stirrup work may be helpful !
i love your horse, she is gorgeous ! what type of warmblood is she ?
