Thoroughbred Conformation Critique
Hi everyone, I'm looking at purchasing an OTTB and have just taken a look at this guy. 16.2HH, 6yr old gelding. Super sweet personality. I'm looking to make a future eventer out of whatever horse I end up buying, and would like a conformation critique on this guy. Do you think he'll be suitable for jumping, and not break down too easy? I'm not sure how to put photos on this but if you can follow this link to my flickr that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Have the photos been stretched in any way? He looks really long. Long back, long neck. I hope it is just the photos, not the actual horse! If it is the photos, hard to tell anything accurately. If it is the actual horse, run away. Far away.

There's gotta be something off in those photos. In the last one, not only does he look super long, but his head looks HUGE!

Long back, downhill, and really bit head. The big head isn't a fault as much as an observation. Go ahead and look to make sure the pics aren't distorted, but if he looks the same I'd run.

Pics are distorted. The last one especially, the stall walls behind the horse are warped. And the head seems so big because he turns it towards the camera.
So, better pics are in order. For a side shot have somebody hold the horse, looking straight ahead and aim for the withers, not from above or below;-)

Those photos look like they were taken with a wide angle lens (or a zoom lens all the way out which is the same thing). I am thinking a 20mm lens on 35mm format...

He might be fine.. but those photos don't say that.
