How can I stop from leaning to the right while riding?
Ive noticed that when im riding [i ride western] that my right leg tends to push away from the horse. I didnt notice this untill my instructor told me and it is a little difficult to correct. I think that this may be happening because either, 1.my stirrups are too short or 2. one of my legs are shorter than the other
when i say that one leg is shorter than the other, i say that because my left foot was broken [the arch completely crushed so there is no arch anymore] and never healed properly. And when i was looking at a picture my mom took while i was riding, you can see that my stirrups are HORRIBLY un-even, even though i checked them on the ground.
Ride with no stirrups, I use to lean all the time! But my coach did this thing its called No stirrups November and it helped me a lot :) Hope this helps!:D
Check your stirrups. Do you ride western? I have an old western saddle, and sometimes the leather laces on one side will stretch out a little, so I relace them. Evens them right up.
Maybe some yoga/stretches would help your position, too. Hip openers and that sort of thing. Do you feel really stiff in the saddle?
Yes i ride western and sometimes i think they streach.
yeah ive been thinking about doing that, do you know some good exorcizes i can do without being on the horse?
