Bit rules for NRHA?
I have the handbook on my bedside table, and I've been reading it. It's riveting:wink:. I am trying to help my daughter get her horse ready for the beginner classes at our local Reining club. Her horse is very soft in the mouth and rides the best in an o-ring snaffle or a rope nose hackamore. (She's also used for barrel racing). I want to make sure that we've found a bit that works for her, but I'm having a hard time finding the bit rules in the NRHA handbook. Will someone please give me the page number?
Looks like 117-119 and 175 for diagrams. Don't quote me, I don't show NRHA, so it is important to read the entire rule book. When in doubt, ask the show producer, secretary, or ring steward in advance to get you a definite ruling.

You can not show in a snaffle bit or a rope nose band or a tie down of any kind. If you go to the pages stated they sound about right.
Thank you. I was pretty sure you couldn't, but I wanted to read the pages for sure. I have a mild Myler with a shank that she seems okay in so she'll probably run in that.
