Best piece of advice for 2012? Let's hear it!

Ok folks.....year in review, what is the best piece of horsey advice you received this year....?

I will start with mine.....This came from a very good friend of mine.....so simple but really simplifies sliding my horse!

'Just ride him down and say whoa'.........

Don't leave it in the practice pen. (save some of your horse for the arena.)

'Just leave him alone for gods sake! He knows what he's doing!' (In reference to lead changes while on course)
This year my trainer and I figured out that my new gelding is infinitely smarter than me, so I've been instructed to sit tall and pretty and let him do it. :D

"It's all about respect"

Yup-that's another. "trust your horse".

I think that's what my friend meant when she told me to ride him down and say whoa.....trust that he'll plant that butt!

"Remember to think For God's sake Ben grow a pair"

My trainer telling me to stop babying the big boy and start insisting rather than reassuring

Well I have to stop overriding and let him do his nice circles, or even his lines!

Don't play chicken with a semi. Doesn't turn out so great.

I thought of that one.

Horses? Hmm..

Don't stick your pecker where you wouldn't stick your pinkie?

Does that count?

Well after your last thread about the poor pecker (which I was going to respond to, but I tend to find humor in all the wrong places thought better of it!!! I had to try real hard not to respond!)
If I had a pecker.....well I don't know where I'd be sticking it! LOL! Quite glad I don't have one!
