The sock monster

I believe I have figured out the truth about the existance of the dreaded sock monster...

Sitting here today and turned around to witness my young lad take off his sock, and promptly throw it into the lit fireplace!!!

So Mothers, no there is no such thing as the sock monster... if your kids are anything like mine all of those mismatching socks are due to your child's desire to fuel the fire and keep the room warm.

Lol! Ok but what happened to my socks, I didn't throw it in the fireplace?

Somebody else clearly did :)

I no longer believe in the myth of the sock monster... apparently 18 month olds are as close as you get :-)

I sincerely believe the dryer eats mine haha. I'm constantly having to buy new sock and i definitely don't throw mine in the fireplace haha. No little kids, cats or puppies to steal them either lol.

But... I don't have a fire place!
*cue creepy music*

There is an abyss where all the lost socks congregate...except the ones thrown in the fireplace!

Bah, are you all trying to tell me that my very thorough investigation which lasted an entire 30 seconds, has been proven wrong?? All that time and hard work wasted :(

I may now start research to see if my 18mo is infact hired by the sock monster so dispose of as many socks as possible.

I just keep them all in a specified "bucket" where they breed more than rabbits. It's like a cheap hotel for socks, once there they never leave

We have a sock "bin"

Otherwise we always said that the washer and dryer ate them lol

Maybe the kid was just being merciful and putting the poor sock out of its misery before the sock monster could get it.
