What do you think
Here is a link to the saddle I want to get for my QH filly. I am saddle breaking her this winter and spring, but won't get on til fall, or next winter.
Black Western Pleasure Trail Horse Saddle 16 18- Western Horse Saddles - Saddle Online

Now, here is the thing... My filly is also black. I am planning on using her for showing, and gymkanna in the future. I like this saddle because everything is included, it is leather, and has full QH bars. I think it will fit my horse, but if it doesn't I will sell it and get a saddle that does.

Would it look good on her because they are both black. I am planning on getting a pink saddle blanket, to look better and give some colour, but what are your opinions?

Saddle is junk. Sorry but it's true. I tried the black tack on black horse. I personally didn't care for it. I like a medium leather on my black horse (well technically he's gray but appears black) I also tried extreme color contrasts, i had some yellow tack, and that was god awfull to my eyes. I feel he looks best in plain ole cowboy style leather. Contrasts but not so much that it takes your eye off of his color. Hope that helped. A pink blanket may look good though. I like pink and black together. I put pink racing stripes on my wife's black car and it looked amazing.

Is the saddle good quality though? I don't like black saddles, but right now, it is all I can afford, and I think it I have something to cut the black off from the black, it will look okay. I will not be doing any big shows, just small town local shows. The beggest show I will be going to is one on Saskatoon.

Some good synthetics might be worth it. I think Big Horn is one that sells condura? I've read somewhere that they were pretty good, but I could be wrong.

No the saddle is junk. Not worth the money to ship junk. Buy it, cut it in half, look at why it's junk, then light it in fire junk. Lol.

Please don't buy that saddle, it is not a good brand, you can find a nice second hand saddle around that price point

I wouldnt. Id wait save some more and buy a better quality saddle. There are many decent quality used saddles for fairly cheap if you look around as well as used tack sets. My set was off ebay for 40 reins, bridle and breast collar. Just need to search around.

I'm an English saddle girl, so I take my Western saddle opinion with a grain of salt. From an English perspective, any new saddle for that price isn't going to be very good quality. I assume the same goes for Western. I think if you search for Saddles Online in this forum's search feature, you'll find some peoples' opinions on them - people who actually have those saddles. I'm sure you'll find both pros and cons, so you can make a good decision.

I always thought black saddles looked cool on black horses if they had a bright red or purple pad.

Okay, well, I guess I am out of luck for saddles for a while, I cannot afford anything over 300 dollars (not including shipping) and that is the cheapest I have found.

I do not want a synthetic saddle. I want a complete set, leather saddle, preferably medium oil. Any suggestions on where to look?

I've seen some big name westerns in great shape, used, for about 5-6 hundred dollars. But this is just in my area.
