I'm having an appointment on Tuesday for a saddle fitting/buying from Devoucoux. I've never bought a saddle from a rep before and rode in front of them. I'm a little nervous about it...anyone have any suggestions or tips??!!!!
P.S. Did I mention that 2 reps and Jean-Michael Devoucoux himself will be there!!!!!!!????? AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Wow that's awesome! Lucky you :) I've never had the chance to sit or ride in one but I have heard htat they are super nice to ride in. The ones I've seen at a local tack store also seem very nice and well made. Good luck and have fun!
That's quite exciting!
But don't get overawed. Bear in mind you know your horse far better than they do so concentrate on how the horse goes under saddle at all three paces compared to how it was going in the old saddle. Don't worry about trying anything fancy, just do what you would normally do to warm your horse up - only jump if you're happy to and at a height the horse is comfortable with.
If you're not sure about something, ask. Even if it's a straightforward question you won't sound like an idiot. Any decent saddle fitter ought to realise most owners don't buy a new saddle every day and should be happy to explain anything you're not clear on.
And enjoy yourself! Best of luck :)
Thank you so much for the comments!!! I'll keep you posted!! :)
